ينتمي المطران ادوار ضاهر الى الرهبانية الباسيلية الشويرية. ولد في القاع في 23/4/1973، ابرز نذوره الرهبانية المؤبدة في 28/8/1994 ، أنهى دروسه الفلسفية واللاهوتية في معهد القديس بولس في حريصا، وحصل على إجازة في القانون الكنسي من جامعة القديس بولس – الحكمة. سيم كاهناً على مذابح الرهبانية الباسيلية الشويرية في 8/5/1999. خدم في عدة رعايا في المتن وكفرشيما وزحلة وتولى وظائف مختلفة في الرهبانية . انتخب في العام 2007 مدبراً ثالثاً في الرهبانية واستلم في العام 2010 رئاسة دير مار الياس الطوق في زحلة بعد أن كان رئيساً لدير القديس أنطونيوس القرقفي في كفرشيما منذ العام 2004. شغل وظيفة رئيس القلم في محكمة الإستئناف البطريركية بدرجتها الأولى من العام 2001 ثم عين رئيس غرفة فيها في العام 2010.
في التاسع من تموز 2013 وافق قداسة البابا فرنسيس على انتخاب سينودوس كنيسة الروم الملكيين الكاثوليك الأرشمندريت إدوار ضاهر رئيس أساقفة على طرابلس وسائر الشمال خلفا للمثلث الرحمة المطران جورج رياشي.
Born in Qaa Lebanon on 23 April, 1973, Archimandrite Edward Daher took his final vows on 23 August 1994 in the Basilian Soarite Order. He has a degree in philosophy and technology from the Saint Paul Institute in (Harissa Lebanon) and in Canon law from Sagesse University (Beirut, Lebanon). He was ordained priest in the Basilian Soarite Order on 8 May 1999. With the order, he served several parishes in many regions of Lebanon, such as Kfarshima, Zahle and Metn, whilst being given several responsible roles within the order. In 2007 he was elected third assistant to the Order’s Council.
In 2004 he was designated superior of Saint Anthony’s Monastry, Karkafeh near Kfarshima (Lebanon) and in 2010 superior of the Monastery of Saint Elijah (Mar Elias El Tuwaq) in Zahle (Bekaa Lebanon).
Clerk to the Patriarchal appellate court (of first instance) from 2001, in 2010 he was named as President of the Chamber in the same court.
On 9 July, 2013 Pope Francis ratified the election by the Holy Synod of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church of V. Rev. Archimandrite Edward Daher as Melkite Greek Catholic Archbishop of Tripoli in Lebanon to succeed the late Mgr. Georges Riachi of blessed memory.
