المطران إيزيدور بطيخة ولد في حلب في 28/07/1950 . تابع دراسته في جامعة الروح القدس (الكسليك – لبنان) ثم تابع دراسته العليا في روما في الفلسفة في الجامعة الحبرية الغريغورية، ثم اللاهوت في معهد القديس انسليم الحبري، وتخصص في دراسة آباء الكنيسة في معهد Augustinianum في جامعة الاتران الحبرية.
هو راهب من رهبانية الباسيلية الحلبية، رسم كاهناً 11/4/1980 على يد المتروبوليت نيوفيطوس ادلبي. وأصبح بالتوالي مساعداً في مجلس الرهبانية ثم مدبر إكليريكية صربا الكبرى ثم رئيساً لدير المخلص في صربا. أسس الديداسكاليون (الإكليريكية الكبرى لرهبانيته في روما) – الكاردينال كوسا، التي صار أول رئيساً لها وفي الوقت عينه نائباً عاماً للرهبانية لدى الكرسي الرسولي من عام 1986 الى 1992.
إنتخبه السينودس المقدس 25/3/1992 نائباً بطريركياً في دمشق ثم سيم أسقفاً شرفاً لبيلوز في 10/10/1992 بوضع يد البطريرك مكسيموس الخامس، يعاونه المتروبوليت نيوفيطوس ادلبي والمطران فرنسوا أبو مخ.
انتخبه السينودس في 8/2/2006 متروبوليتاً لحمص وحماه ويبرود ونصب في يبرود في 21/4/2006 وفي حمص في الثامن والعشرين من الشهر عينه. متقاعد منذ 6/9/2010.
Isidore Battikha, BA (born on 28 July 1950 in Aleppo, Syria) is a Syrian archbishop emeritus of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Homs in Syria.
He was also Grand Prior of the Patriarchal Order of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem.
Life
Isidore Battikha was on April 11, 1980 ordained priest and after that was named Chaplain of the Aleppinian Basilian. On August 25, 1992, he was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Melkite Patriarchate of Antioch and named titular bishop of Pelusium of Greek Melkites. On 9 February 2006, he was elected by the Synod of Bishops of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church as the successor of Abraham Nehmé as Archbishop of Homs. The Patriarch of Antioch Maximos V Hakim ordained him to the episcopate on August 25, 1992, and were his co-consecrators Néophytos Edelby, BA and François Abou Mokh, BS. Archbishop Battikha until his resignation was co-consecrator of the Archbishops Elias Chacour and Michel Abrass, BA.
Resignation
On 6 September 2010 Pope Benedict XVI accepted Battikha’s resignation, in accordance with the Code of Canons of the Eastern Churches (CCEO), can. 210. The reasons for his resignation are still unknown, and to the Archeparchy of Homs was named Jean-Abdo Arbach in 2012.
